CIÇO and LUZIA (Book in English)

Romance reveals the love story between a country hero who finds himself in love with the boss's daughterThe book tells the love story of Ciço Romão (name inherited from the patron and godfather) and Luzia.

At a time when love is in crisis, behold, a playful and subjective narrative on the subject emerges from the Mato Grosso universe of Monteirense Efigênio Moura. The novel "Ciço de Luzia" reveals the love story between a country hero who finds himself in love with the boss's daughter. Impossible love? That nothing. The impossible is made possible by the simplicity of these two. Ciço and Luzia are pieces of a novel that takes place in a land of hot winds, in an attractive landscape, whose protagonist is Cariri, with its customs and peculiarities.

Ciço de Luzia is Efigênio's second publication, who entered the literary scene in October 2010 with the book Eita Gota! A trip to Paraíba. The first experience as a writer was conceived in 12 months and resulted in the depletion of the three editions of the book published in the same year of release. Unlike the first, which presents in a direct and humorous way, the journey of a family from Paraíba through the interiors of the state, the second book shows the depth in the subtleties of an almost childlike love. The story of Ciço and Luzia takes place in the 70s, according to the author, "at that time, love was true love". The 36 short stories that make up the book place the reader in a position of omnipresence, moving between observer and character. In short, the narrative explores the sensations between the characters, which engages the reader in a plot full of linguistic games, which prioritizes the oral tradition of the northeastern. At the end of each chapter, the unaccustomed reader will be able to find in the glossary the meaning of the words of the Matuto dialect.
